PURPOSE: A method for processing a billing agent service by using an intelligent network is provided so that a billing operation can be performed on a plurality of participants, regardless of a reception line, by using the intelligent network having a service controller and a service exchange. CONSTITUTION: A service exchange receives a billing intelligent call from a transmission side local exchanger(301), and confirms whether the transmission side is a public telephone(302). When the transmission side is the public telephone, the routine is ended. In the case that the transmission side is not the public telephone, a transmission number corresponding to the intelligent call is collected. Here, the transmission number and the intelligent network number are formatted as shared line signal network messages. Thereafter, the service exchange demands service processing to the service controller through the shared line signal network(303). When the service exchange receives a processing result message from the service controller(304), the service exchange transmits a confirm sound or announcement to a terminal of a billing participant according to the result(305). As a result, the billing operation can be carried out on the plurality of participants in a real time through their terminals, by employing the intelligent network, instead of using a special reception device such as an ARS. In addition, collected money can be returned to the participants by discount of telephone fee.
