PURPOSE: A wide area wireless multimedia communication system which can provide various wireless communication services including a wireless local loop service, a local area network service, cable broadcasting service, etc. to subscribers is provided. CONSTITUTION: A wide area wireless multimedia communication system includes; a central office unit (100) for managing network connections and subscribers for a multimedia communication; a customer premises equipment unit (400) having a plurality of data terminals, each of the plurality of data terminals for exchanging multimedia data with a data terminal connected thereto by the central office unit; a hub outdoor unit (300) for transmitting or receiving the multimedia data through wireless links to or from the customer premises equipment unit; and a head-end unit (200) for repeating the multimedia data between the central office unit and the hub outdoor unit. According to the system, with lower cost, various wireless communication services, such as a wireless local loop service, a local area network service, a game on demand service, a pay per view service, a new on demand service, a cable broadcasting service, etc. can be provided.
