FIELD: nondestructive testing of material by ultrasonic methods, detection of flaws in various articles of mechanical engineering, and transport. SUBSTANCE: beam of ultrasonic vibrations is irradiated into prism of electroacoustic converter, ultrasonic vibrations reflected from working surface of prism are received and used to determine quality of acoustic contact. Apart from this phase of received vibrations is found and quality of acoustic contact is judged by its value. EFFECT: enhanced authenticity and reliability of method. 2 dwg
