FIELD: silicon production and silicon materials. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to technology of preparing polycrystalline silicon and chemical compound thereof: nitride and carbide from naturally occurring silicon-containing. Invention is distinguished by method of preparing metallic silicon solution involving isolation of silicon from silicon-containing compounds, largely from oxides, transferring silicon by carrier, and dissolving it in metal melts. Metallic silicon is prepared by recrystallization of raw material in the form of metal solutions of silicon at reduced pressure. Metallic silicon is distinguished by high purity and low cost price. Ceramic materials are prepared from metallic silicon by thermochemical interaction of the latter with nitrogen- and carbon-containing substances to give nitride and carbide compounds. Ceramic materials thus obtained are characterized by low level of impurities, high dispersity, and high specific surface of its polycrystalline conglomerates and also by its phase composition optimal for a series of its applications.
