The conveyor consists of a channel-shaped body formed of sheet material, including a horizontal base panel (2) and inclined side walls (3,4). The channel is supported by a frame of horizontal beams (5) running longitudinally and vertical supports (6) spaced at intervals along the conveyor's length. Each vertical support is connected at its lower corner (21,22) to a fixed structure (13) by an inclined brace (23) such as a cable or chain, inclined at an angle between 5 and 20 degrees to the vertical. The brace is attached to the fixed structure via a shock-absorbing connector (25) such as a rubber bush or helical spring.
