Fuel injection duration control method for direct fuel injection IC engine, e.g. vehicle deisel engine

The method uses a fuel injection duration dependent on the engine loading, corrected for detected engine operating parameters. A correction factor for the fuel injection duration is calculated from the difference between the fuel pressure and the actual cylinder pressure, calculated from a given equation and the fuel density at the fuel injection point.
