A method for frequency conversion of the radiation of a pulsed optical parametric oscillator (opos) and apparatus for carrying out the method

The method involves sum or difference frequency mixing of pulsed laser pump radiation with optical parametric oscillator (OPO) radiation obtained from a pulsed laser pumped nonlinear OPO crystal. The frequency mixing is performed within the OPO resonator in an integrated manner. The OPO oscillator may comprise a nonlinear crystal for parametric operation, a nonlinear crystal for frequency mixing, and resonator mirrors. An Independent claim is also given for an apparatus for carrying out the method.
