The filter arrangement (10) has damping poles (12,14) for determining the filter characteristic. The electromagnetic waves are transferred by waveguide structures with different impedances, esp.conducting sections of different impedances that are small compared to the working wavelengths, between the filter arrangement's input and output connections. The two or more damping poles are formed by series resonant circuits that are coupled via only one branch point to the filter structure of the filter arrangement. The branch point is formed by an equivalence transformation of series resonant circuits (16,18) connected in parallel
