An electrical sliding spring, comprising a sliding contact of vitreous carbon, is new. A sliding spring for electrical tribo-systems in potentiometric sensors and current/voltage taps comprises: (a) a first functional element with an electrical sliding contact of vitreous carbon of defined hardness, the contact being initially shaped during the carbon production process and subsequently being finally shaped according to use; and (b) a second functional element in which mechanical spring force is created separately and is not dependent on the use of metals.
