The invention relates to a device for expanding and reconstructing the lacrimal duct of a human eye so that lacrimal fluid can pass through the lacrimal duct to the nasal cavity. The inventive device comprises the following components: a first hollow cannula whose distal end has at least one longitudinal gap; an obturator which passes through the first hollow cannula and expands the distal end of said first hollow cannula in the area of the gap; a hollow body which encompasses the outer contour of the first hollow cannula in the distal area; and a second hollow cannula which can be slid over the first hollow cannula and which extends to the proximal side end of the hollow body fitted on the first hollow cannula, preventing said hollow body from sliding axially on the proximal side.
