New bile acid derivatives useful for preventing formation of gall stones

Bile acid derivatives (I) and their salts and functional derivatives, are new. Bile acid derivatives of formula (I), their salts and functional derivatives, are new: R1 = 9-23C alkyl or 9-23C alkenyl; R2 = OH, OT, -NH-T'-SO3H, -N(Me)-CH2CH2-SO3H, -NH-T''-COOH or -N(Me)-T''-COOH; and T, T', T'' = 1-6C alkyl, 2-6C alkylene and 1-6C alkylene respectively.
