Bed mattress frame of frame-supported densely packed flexible slats

Frame slats make up the closing reset elements of a valve element and are made up of a stiff center slat layer (6) straddled by flexible top (10) and base (11) layers. Projections on the top layer slats pass with clearance between the center layer slats and the frame is loaded by the projections pressing on the base layer to remove these down from the center layer slats. The center and top layer slats run at 90 deg to one another and the base layer slats run in line with the center layer slats and so at 90 deg to the slats in the top layer. The slats in all three layers are installed in tension so the valve element only opens from a specified load onwards. The layer heights can be mutually adjusted, using projecting bars to ensure that when out of load the valve opens to permit air flow.
