A cold-curing (meth)acrylate system containing (meth)acrylate and possibly other monomers, a soluble or swellable (pre)polymer and a redox catalyst system is used for embedding lighting strips in channel-shaped grooves in sections of floor, wall or ceiling. Sections of floor, wall or ceiling in which a lighting strip is embedded in a groove with a polymeric material obtained by hardening a cold-curing reactive (meth)acrylate system containing (weight %): (i) (meth)acrylate (30-100) comprising methyl (meth)acrylate (0-100), 2-4C (meth)acrylate (0-100), at least 5C (meth)acrylate (0-50) and polyfunctional (meth)acrylates (0-50), plus comonomers (0-50) comprising vinylaromatics (0-30) and vinyl ester (0-30); (ii) 0-5 parts by weight (pts. wt.) (pre)polymer which is soluble or swellable in (i) (per 1 pt. wt. (i)); (iii) a redox system comprising an accelerator and a peroxide catalyst or initiator, in an amount sufficient for cold-curing and kept partly or completely separate from the polymerizable components; and (iv) 0-5 pts. wt. conventional additives and fillers (to 1 pt. wt. (i)).
