The two parts of the housing (1) are mutually sealed by a slide ring seal (30) on the rotor (4) drive shaft (6) and the housing part containing the rotor (4) is in turn connected to the rotor interior. On the infeed side the rotor has a non-contact rotating gap seal (62) where it joins the housing part (61) and the gap seal has axially bored (64) ribs (63) forming inside chambers. The housing side (61) linked to the rotor interior has a tangential fluid offtake connection (65) as linked via nonreturn valve (66) to the pump infeed (10). The slide ring seal (30) is immersed in a lubricating barrier fluid.
