Short coherence light source for optical coherence tomography

The light source has a double core fiber optical resonator for producing light with the aid of a laser process and a pump source for generating stimulation light for the laser process in a laser medium of the fiber and a decoupling optical arrangement for decoupling the stimulation light in the fiber. At least part of the double core fiber (20) is in the form of a notch filter or a separate notch filter is arranged in optical connection with the double core fiber inside the resonator. An Independent claim is also included for an application of the light source to optical coherence tomography.
