The segment (1) for use in hydraulic engineering has a rectangular and horizontal leg (2), with vertical legs (3) at each end, together to form a U- or H-shape. The vertical legs (3) have a number of tubular flushing channels (4), at intervals, opening out at the bottom of the legs. The horizontal leg (2) has passage openings (5) through it. The flushing channels (4) are interconnected by a channel (6) within the legs (3) and/or are linked to branch channels (7) which open out at the bottom of the legs (3).
