The hammer mechanism has outer and inner travelers with a hammer piston in the cavity of the inner one. There is a spring mechanism in the rear end of this cavity facing away from the tool. This mechanism stores the energy of the returning piston (11.1). When the piston changes direction, the stored energy is used to move it forward.
