The housing (81,82) of a facing jig tool (80) mounted in an adapter socket (47) is nonrotatably fixed to the turret head (40) and a drive shaft projecting from the housing (81,82) forms part of the drive gear used to traverse the tool slides (101). The shaft stands normal to the turret spindle (60) rotation axis and a traversing coupling is fitted into the entraining socket of a driver on the free end of the drive shaft. A fixed stub axle projection from the turret head (40) carries a drive unit (130,140) as traversing drive. The drive unit (130,140) is coaxial to the drive shaft and comprises a servo drive (130) traversing lengthways off a separate drive (140) in the form of a pneumatic feed.
