The splayed head of the fixer head (7) homes into an expanding dowel (3) assisted by head ribs engaging dowel grooves until the head is driven home whereupon the ribs disengage their grooves and secure the splayed head against withdrawal. The lever mounting the splayed head has an end stop which engages a dowel hole to act as abutment in any tipping movement. The guide grooves are arranged in a sector of the dowel slot and a dowel edge in the axial direction of the dowel slot bears against an end stop on the inserted head additionally preventing the head being withdrawn. A coupling (14) of the fixer head (7) is engaged by its counterpart (15) on an adapter (13) to which the rail tube (17) is fastened.
