The support has a plate shaped mounting element (10) within which an elongate opening (16) is provided that has serrated teeth (20,22) formed along its walls. A clamping element (24) of a resilient plastic material has a receiving slot (26) for accommodating the Bowden cable hose (28a) and toothed portions adapted to engage the teeth in the opening walls so that the clamping element is secured against longitudinal movement in at least one direction. The clamping element has a generally u-shaped portion forming legs (30,32) and defining the receiving slot between them, with the toothed portions being formed on the outer sides of the legs or in the range of the web portion that interconnects the legs. The clamping element also includes a portion which extends from the opposite side of the element to the receiving slot and which is designed to be positioned on the opposite side of the mounting element to the main portion of the clamping element and which is wider than the elongate opening so as to prevent the clamping element being pulled through the opening. The elongate opening has a widened portion (18) at one end to facilitate the initial insertion of the clamping element into the slot.
