The hydraulic system has a first hydraulic pump (3) driven by an electric motor (4) and a second pump (13) driven by an electric motor (14). The system includes at least one lifting cylinder (9) and at least one auxiliary consumer (6-8). During the lowering of the load receiving device, at least one electric motor is driven as a generator by a hydraulic pump. The first pump supplies the lifting cylinder at least during slow lifting of the load receiving device, and the auxiliary consumers. The second pump supplies the lifting cylinder during rapid lifting of the load receiving device and drives one of the electric motors (14) during the lowering of the load device.
