Testing of artillery propellant charge by determining physical characteristics of propellant charge and comparing them with predetermined nominal values

The method involves determining physical characteristics of a propellant charge (2) to be examined, comparing them as actual values with predetermined nominal values, and evaluating them to release the propellant charge. The propellant charge is blocked at an overstepping or understepping of these nominal values. The physical characteristics may be a contour and/or dimensions of the propellant charge, and the test is preferably performed after each charging process. An Independent claim is provided for a corresponding testing arrangement.
