Steering adjuster, especially for steer-by-wire use in cars has electronic control system with gearbox and motor subdivided into two functionally similar subsystems for generation of adjusting signal
A steering adjuster, especially for steer-by-wire use in cars, has an electronic control system which generates steering signals for an electric adjusting motor (51,52) that acts upon the steering arm of a linked axle via a step-down gearbox (41,42). The control system has a process computer (81,82) passing adjusting signals to the motor via a current controller (71,72) and a power end stage (61,62). The electronic control system with the gearbox and the motor is subdivided into two functionally similar subsystems for the generation of an adjusting signal for the pertinent motor. The two steering angles adjusted via the respective gearbox of each adjusting motor are superimposed by a common superposition gearbox (3) connected to the output sides of the step-down gearboxes. The resulting steering angle is passed to the steering arm. The two subsystems are arranged and connected together functionally so that they form an error-tolerant steering adjuster.
