For creating the scratch resistant layer a plasma is produced in a stimulating gas by a chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method and the gas fed via a tube (9) to the plastic substrate (7) in a vacuum chamber (1) containing a structure forming gas. A gas flow sputtering source (12,13) is then used to form the high refractive layer or layers of the antireflective system layers system. An Independent claim is made for the process equipment with separate plasma deposition (1) and gas flow sputtering (2) chambers and a transporting device (3), preferably a rotating plate, for moving the plastic substrate (7,8) from one chamber to the other.
