A device to apply a permanent make-up or similar with pigmenting color or similar to the skin, especially a make-up remaining permanent only for a limited time because wash-proof and abrasion-proof, has a housing (24) serving as a hand piece with an electric motor, a needle (7) and a mechanism converting the rotary motion of the motor into a back and forth movement of the needle. The mechanism is set up and designed so that to apply the make-up, the needle is repeatedly stuck into a desired limited depth of the skin. Thereby the pigmenting color or similar penetrates into the skin, furthermore only limited in its upper surface layer.
