Straw collecting device for combined harvester has new design of locking mechanism for flaps, resulting in uninterrupted performance on uneven surfaces

The device (2) comprises of a stationary upper area (4) and two flaps (5,6), which are opened and closed by a locking mechanism, in order to release a measured quantity of straw in certain intervals. The mechanism consists of a movable joined upper and lower element (13,15) and is operated by a working cylinder (15) acting on a spring load (17). When the straw has reached a certain level, a signal shows in the driver cabin and the operator can press a control button. The locking mechanism (13,14) is positioned immediately beside the working cylinder and the spring load, resulting in a reliable action even on uneven grounds.
