Herbicide composition comprises: (I) a glufosinate- or glyphosate-type herbicide, an imidazolinone or a protoporphyrinogen oxidase inhibitory azole herbicide; and (II) herbicides of type (I) other than (I) itself; herbicides with foliar and/or soil activity; cereal-selective herbicides with foliar activity; cereal-selective herbicides active against monocot and dicot weeds; and cereal-selective herbicides with foliar activity. A combination of herbicides (I) and (II) is used to control weeds in cereal crops, provided that the crops are tolerant of (I) and (II), optionally in the presence of safeners. (I) is (A) glufosinate or glyphosate compounds of formula (Ia) and (Ib) and their esters and salts: (B) imidazolinones; or (C) protoporphyrinogen oxidase (PPO) inhibitory azole herbicides; and (II) is (A) herbicides of type (I) other than (I) itself; (B) cereal-selective herbicides with foliar and/or soil (residual) activity, especially against monocot weeds; (C) cereal-selective herbicides with predominantly foliar activity against monocot and dicot weeds; (D) cereal-selective herbicides with foliar and soil activity against monocot and dicot weeds; and (E) cereal-selective herbicides with foliar against monocot and dicot weeds. Z = OH, NHCH(CH3)CONHCH(CH3)COOH or NHCH(CH3)CONHCH(CH2CH(CH3)2)COOH; Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for controlling weeds in tolerant cereal crops, comprising applying (I) and (II), together or separately, pre- and/or post-emergence, to the plants, parts of the plants, seeds or soil; (2) a herbicidal composition comprising (I) and (II); (3) use of the composition of (2) for regulating the growth of cereal plants; (4) use of the composition of (2) for modifying the yield or contents of cereal plants.
