Mixed polyethylene and polyamide waste, e.g. film, containing at least 5% of one component, is processed as usual by chopping and compaction. The mixture is extruded in an inert atmosphere at 180-250 deg C to obtain a homogenous product, which is then granulated for use in normal thermoplastic processing applications.
