Device comprises a piezo-electric type oscillator (1) that is covered with an open porous layer (4) into which fluid enters. The porous structure allows a relatively large amount of fluid to enter so that any movement of the oscillator is 100 percent due to the fluid. The difference between crystal resonance frequencies with and without fluid is recorded.
