Welded crank shaft of single elements each with crank web and tubular sections, to form main bearing journals and crank shaft journals, oil ducts and overlapping parts
The welded crank shaft (1) consists of a number of single elements (2) each made up of a crank web (3) with tubular sections (4,5) on both sides. The single elements are welded together so that the tubular sections (5) of adjacent single elements (2',2) form main bearing journals (6) and crank shaft journals (7) . The journals contain inner hollow cavities (8,9) and partly radially overlap. The crank shaft contains oil ducts (10) running axially in the overlapping part (15) from the main bearing and crank shaft journals and lead directly into the journal surfaces via radial holes (12,13).
