An ignition/starter switch (10) provided in the inside of a car has a movable handle (11) found on it for unlocking and locking the steering (12) as well as starting/stopping the engine. There is a home position provided for the non-operation and at least one operating position serving for the operation. The handle is located in non-detachable fashion on the ignition/starter switch. A transmitting and receiving device (15) is provided which serves to identify an authorised user and after the identification, the handle can be transferred into a position for releasing the steering lock (23) and at least one further position (17) for switching on the engine ignition.
