The device has a base plate on which individual modules can be located. To determine the fluid absorption by a paper (Cobb Test), an ultrasound sensor is positioned on the plate on which the paper specimen is placed. The area of the specimen above the sensor is attached by a double-sided adhesive tape. A specific volume of fluid is brought into contact with the paper and is retained by a ring pressed against the paper.
