The selector shaft (1) has at least two individual parts whose dividing plane runs at right angles through a longitudinal axis (11) of the shaft, with at least one part being made without stock removal. The selector shaft rod can comprise a connector (2) at the end on which the shift components can be fixed to produce a connection with a manual shift lever. An intermediate member (4) can be coupled where necessary to one or more transmission elements which are fitted on a multi-function shaped part (5). The connector is produced by the flow press method.
