The method involves determining the length of time a channel is received, and when a threshold time is reached, that channel is stored as a channel of interest. The reception time of the current channel is constantly determined, or only until the threshold time is reached. The reception time may be determined when switching from the current channel to another channel. The threshold time may be set by the manufacturer and/or the user. An Independent claim is included for a method in which a channel is determined to be not of interest if the reception time does not reach a threshold time.
