The press has a stationary knife (6) on a beam-shaped knife carrier (8), and a moveable knife (7). The central part of the beam is supported on the machine frame via two support units (9). The units are positioned mirror-like towards the center, and the relative distance between their axis is approx. half the length esp. 0,596 of the knife carrier. The support units are bolts passing through the knife carrier. The knife carrier is held between two plate elements (4).
