The grid bar comprises an upper rail (10) with several trap devices each with a swivel trap element (20) lockable in position by a pair of pawls (40,40'). An operating rod can be selectively rotated to unlock the trap elements together or can be moved by sliding to bring the trap elements from at least one opening position together into the trap position. The upper rail is preferably a U-section open to the bottom with the pawls mounted in the U-section and each having an unlocking pin which projects through a recess out of a side wall of the U section for actuation.
