A culture system for stimulating the growth and differentiation of cartilage and/or bone cells, comprising a combination of undifferentiated cells (I) and differentiating and/or differentiated cells (II), is new. An Independent claim is also included for production of a culture system for stimulating the growth and differentiation of cartilage and/or bone cells, comprising: (a) isolating undifferentiated cells from a starting material; (b) stimulating some of the undifferentiated cells to differentiate; and (c) mixing the undifferentiated and differentiating and/or differentiated cells, in a predetermined ratio.
