The bonnet includes an integrated, computer-controlled extendable flap for deflecting the air stream during travel. The air stream is guided over the windscreen by a height-adjustable flap. The flap is extended or retracted by a pneumatic, hydraulic or mechanical drive. A control circuit sets the height of the flap based on the speed of the vehicle. The flap is shaped to give optimal deflection of the air stream over the windscreen.
