The cutting fitment has a guide rail with guide groove for the circulating saw chain which has centre drive members, side connectors and cutting members (12) which have a side cutting edge (22) and a roof cutting edge (23). A further cutting tip (125) is formed in the roof cutting edge and lies across the longitudinal direction of the chain at a lateral spacing from the leading cutting tip (25) so as to trail same. The trailing cutting tip is fomred on the side flank of an indented longitudinal groove.
