Blocking converter circuit (10) is located between a charging capacitor and an ignition pulse capacitor. Timer circuit (30) driven by a trigger circuit (20) switches off the blocking circuit for a predefined period for each ignition pulse until thyristor pair (A, A'; B, B') activated by the same ignition pulse is again in the blocking state after discharging the ignition pulse capacitor (Ci).
