Boiler fuelled by liquid, gaseous or pulverized fuel comprizes a container filled with heat carrier fluid (30) and a combustion chamber (40) floating in the fluid container and itself (40) entered from above by an insert (60) from whose base combustion gases generated by the burner rise into the chamber (40). The offgas zone formed by the chamber (40) and offgas collector (50) is sealed off from the fluid-filled space of the container specified. The collector is insulated all round and contains a heat exchanger and, like the combustion chamber (40), is inserted into the container from above as a separate component. The collector is set down on the chamber (40) outlet and the main insert (60) bears on the collector (50) via an encircling step piece (64). Offgas bleeds via collector pipe (55) into a space which is separate from the fluid-filled space and in which the gas is scrubbed and purefied. An insulating component (20) divides the space (30) into an inner zone (34) with the combustion chamber and an outer zone (36), with heat exchanger sited in the space between the insulator interior and the combustion chamber (40) exterior.
