The external ventricle drainage device has a spring loaded membrane and/or an adjustable valve. A membrane disc has a ring-shaped membrane (8) with a central valve part (12) which closes the valve opening (15) and comprises an opposite spring seat. The disc is applied using a threaded ring (7) and the spring is adjusted using a screw. Pressure measurement is used to determine the state of the valve.
