Longitudinal struts (38, 40) extend parallel to the tabletops (10, 12), at a distance beneath them, and are joined at their ends via horizontal pivot axles (34, 36, 52, 54) to the table legs (14, 16) and a middle piece (42). Two parallel, spaced apart horizontal pivot axles connect the tabletops to the middle piece. The length struts, top ends of the legs and middle piece combine with these three sets of pivot axles and the pivot axles connecting the tabletops to the legs to form a parallelogram bar structure.
