The stapler has staples pressed up by a spring in a magazine, ejected by an ejection blade through an ejection channel, below which is a clamping plate with indentations. The upper surface of the stapling plate (1) has an indentation (2) for outer or inner stapling and a slit-like breakthrough (3) for flat clinching. The stapling plate may have outer gripping edges projecting over a platform (9) on the baseplate.
