The appliance for reducing primary pollution comprises a gasification chamber (10) and a combustion chamber (30) in front of the heat exchanger and dust-remover. The gasification and combustion chambers each have a fan (40.1,40.2) directly joined by means of a hot-gas return duct (35) and a flame duct (22) and form a unit. The hot gas return duct is at the end of the combustion chamber, and the flame duct is at the end of the gasification chamber under the fan and opens into the combustion chamber which on the downflow side is separated from the ash compartment (20) by the wall (21) and ceiling (22) and ends in the flame duct.
