The machine is provided with a safety device which rapidly and precisely switches to set the machine to a neutral displacement position in the event of a fault in the control circuit of a displacement device (16). The safety device consists of a conventional solenoid valve (41) to which the control valve (28) of the displacement device are connected. The control valve is a 6/2 way sliding valve.
