A contact spear (4) is introduced into the stranded conductor (1) and a rubber-elastic sheath applied directly to the strand bundle is expanded. The contact spear is clamped by the application of a radial or partially radial force to the penetrated contact spear by the sheath. A contact device using a fixed contact spear is also claimed.
