The aim of the invention is to provide a simple, inexpensive and efficient means for providing a user (14) of a mobile radio terminal with individual information. To this end, the invention provides a device and a method for providing information on locations which are in the vicinity of said mobile radio terminal (14) and which have been requested by the user of said terminal. According to said method, the terminal (14) makes a request (12) regarding locations in the vicinity of the terminal and directs said request to a mobile radio network-based location determination device (9, 8, 10). Said mobile radio network-based location determination device (9, 8, 10) determines the locations that are in the vicinity of the current position (10) of the terminal (14) and transmits said information as a response (13) to the terminal via an individual channel (13).
