Decoloring of styrene recovered from thermally cracked petroleum by heating in admixture with a dienophile and a polymerization inhibitor to give a polymerization-grade product

Decoloring of styrene recovered from thermally cracked petroleum and still containing color carriers is effected by heating a mixture of the impure styrene, dienophile(s) and polymerization inhibitor(s) to 50-140 deg C and then separating the decolored styrene from the other components of the mixture.
