The system has supporting units (3) between the vehicle body (2) and wheels (1), each with an active control element (5) in series with a passive spring (4), automatic control of the control element, a supporting system displacement sensor and a vehicle body acceleration sensor arrangement. The control elements are controlled to reduce the higher frequency components of the sensor arrangement signals. For lower frequency signals the control elements are subject to a reduced, nulled and/or opposed adjustment.
